Omololu Embraces Path to Going Green
The creative energy continues to flow at The Teacher Gloria Omololu Institute (TGOI) with its recent installation of a Solar Air Conditioner in one of its classrooms. This initiative is part of the school’s vision to embrace an environmentally-friendly approach to fostering an innovative and sustainable learning environment for its students. It is a cost effective welcome addition to moderating classroom temperatures particularly in the hotter months to maximise student and teacher comfort.
St. Martin company SOLARPROD OUTREMER ST. MARTIN was delighted to make a kind donation of a Climasun Solar Energy Airconditoning unit to the school. This attractive unit promises to save 20% – 50% of energy. It is usable in any environment, easily
installed with an extended service life. The refrigerant used does not harm the environment and the products offer the full range of functions available in conventional air conditioners.
TGOI students are optimizing this learning opportunity by conducting a hands-on Science Research Project around the theme of Going Green and Solar Energy. Students from Grades 4 – 6 are currently actively engaged in the Science Project. The aim of the project is to test the effectiveness of the solar air conditioner as against that of a traditional unit. Twice daily the students take readings to record the energy usage and will present their finding s and recommendations at the end of the project. Persons interested in viewing the Solar Air Conditioner in action are invited to contact the TGOI office during normal working hours to schedule a visit at 497-5430 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
TGOI is delighted to continue to innovate as it pursues its path to excellence in holistic, modern, global education. Learn more at www.omololuschool.org
